Celebration of the Life of Deacon Lois Mells-Franklin
Deacon Lois Mells Franklin was born December 24, 1935, to the late Johnny and Hattie Mae Mells. At an early age, she acknowledged Christ and joined St. Mathis M.B. Church.
She graduated from Washington High of Blakely, Ga. And continued her education at the Fort Valley State College , Ft. Valley, Ga.
She moved to Hartsville, S.C. where she met and was united in Holy Matrimony to the late Willie James Franklin, two children were born, Eddie James Franklin and the late Willie James Franklin.
After some years, she moved to Brooklyn, N.Y. and joined the Berean MB Church, where she served in many auxiliaries and became a Deacon over 20 plus years and served faithfully until moving back to Blakely, Ga.
After returning home, she knew God still had work for her to do and she reunited to St. Mathis MB Church, later she became a member of Anointed MB Church under the leadership of Rev. Johnnie M. Burnett, where she served until her health failed.
Her parents, one son and five siblings preceded her in death.
She leaves to cherish her memories, one son Eddie James Franklin and wife, Judy, Five grands, 5 great grands and one great great grand, One brother, Eddie Mells, Two sisters: Johnnie Mae Burnett and Mildred Mells, and one sister-in-law, Evera Mells; a host of nieces, nephews, relatives and friends,
