Cathy Ann Graham Jackson transitioned peaceful with comfort after hearing the last words "I love you" from her children on March 21, 2021, at Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital. God blessed her with sixty-one beautiful years of life. Mrs. Jackson was born in Blakely, Ga. to the late George Graham, Sr. and Annie Ree Graham on January 6, 1960.
She attended Washington Elementary and graduated from Early County High School. After graduation she left Early Co. to attend Albany State University for one year. After giving birth to her first daughter, she married who is now known as Veteran Eddie Sam Jackson in 1984. With this marriage, she went from being a single mother to creating a solid family where she created two more boys. Cathy birthed three children, a daughter, Chakia M. Graham, and two sons, Brian A. Jackson (now known as Brian Fisher) and Eddie G. Jackson.
Mrs. Jackson, Cathy, or "Charity" as her brother, Otis Graham, would call her, lived a life that involved her leaving Blakely, Ga. and traveling the U.S.A.. A young woman from the south, even traveled over seas. Cathy later returned to her roots and made Albany, Ga. her place of residence. She graduated from Albany Technical College receiving her nursing diploma. This made her a certified LPN. This is when life for Cathy changed. She began a new chapter of her life known as "Nurse Jackson." She made her nursing career her top priority. as a nurse, she elevated from nurse, charge nurse to supervising nurse in corrections. Nurse Jackson began preparing herself for retirement in September 2020 making Pruitt Health her last nursing position
"Heaven lies at the foot of a Mother" Mrs. Jackson was a loyal friend and devoted grandmother. She was special, and everyone knew it. Cathy was strong, solid and tough. There will never be another Cathy. She is a legend. She was a beautiful mother and a successful black woman
Cathy leaves behind a legacy of her life and love that was filled with wonderful memories. She leaves to cherish her everlasting memories, her husband, Eddie Sam Jackson, Albany, Ga., three children and five grand children, Tyler Chastin, Paichence, Kingstin and Pretti Graham, Albany, Ga. three brothers, Eddie Ray and Andrew Graham, Albany, Ga., Otis Graham, Lawton, Ok; three sisters, Patricia Smith, Blakely, Ga., Annie (Ralph) Cratic, Lawton, Ok., Linda Thompson, Blakely, Ga. Three aunties, Minnie Gilbert, Blakely, Ga. Mary Gilbert, Marlboro, Md. and Ruby Gilbert, Blakely, Ga., one uncle, Howard Gilbert, Blakely, Ga., special sister-in-law, Gwendolyn Griffin , (RIP Uncle Jock), Albany, Ga. and three more wonderful sisters-in- law, two brothers-in-law, Willie C. Tinson, Blakely, Ga. and Sam Wilson, Crosby, Ms.; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
"A beautiful and successful mother, she awaits her place in the hearts and minds of her loved ones." Cathy was preceded in death by her parents, George Graham, Sr. and Annie Ree Graham; one brother, George Graham, Jr. and two sisters-in-law, Dorothy Jackson Gainer and Betty Wilson; and two brothers -in-law, Willie Frank Tinson and Tony Thompson
