Reflection of Life
As we celebrate the home-going of our Sister in Christ, Mrs. Corene (Co) Fleming Sanders, let us not forget the love and memories she left with us. Sister Corene was a soldier for the Lord. She served tirelessly, gave willingly, and loved unselfishly.
Sister Corene was born on January 20, 1941, in Blakely, Georgia. She is the daughter of the late J.C. and Lorene Fleming. She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Ebenezer A. M. E. Church, where she served faithfully in many capacities until her health failed. She served as the President of the Senior Choir, Treasurer of the Senior Choir, Stewart, and on the Missionary Board. Sister Corene retired from Early Memorial Nursing Home after 30 plus years of dedicated services.
Sister Corene was married to Mr. Lewis Sanders for over 20 years. She was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother, and adoring aunt.
On July 24, 2020, she answered the voice of the Lord, which said, "Well done my good and faithful servant." She leaves to cherish her memory, a loving and devoted husband, Lewis Sanders, Children: Kenneth (Cat) and Ronald Sanders both of Orlando, FL, and Robert Sanders of Houston, TX. Daughter in law Delpha Sanders, Blakely, GA. Grandchildren Athina Sanders, Carlena Haynes, Carleitha Grier (Steve) all of Blakely, GA: Kerry Haynes of Dothan, AL. Whitney, Milton, and Quin Sanders. Three Special Nieces Teresa and Makenzie Williams and Markita Richards (Neil) all of Atlanta, GA. Five Nephews David, Kendall, Terrence, Emory Williams all of Jacksonville, FL, and the Freeman Nieces and Nephews She has four siblings Joan (Clifton) Mosely of Blakely, GA: Grace Fleming, David Fleming of St. Petersburg, FL, and Harold (Annetta) Ray of Chesapeake, VA. Brother in Law Al Johnson, Sisters in Law Dorothy Jean Clark, and Eddie Mae Claiborne. Nieces and Nephews, The Mansfields of Florida and Georgia. and a host of great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who will miss her dearly. One sister proceeded her in death Juanita Fleming Turner and two sons: Michael and Luke Sanders.
