Georgia Ruth Thompson Roberts was born September 23, 1926 in Damascus, Georgia to the late Willie Charles Thompson and Amanda Taylor. She was the sixth of seven children (7), Isaac Thompson, Mildred Lucille Thompson, Arthur Thompson, Willie Charles Jr. (Pete), Augusta Thompson (Gus), Hazel Irene Thompson (all deceased).
Georgia Ruth Roberts was raised in Damascus, Georgia and graduated from Damascus High School. In May of 1951 she married the love of her life, Roosevelt Roberts of Damascus, Georgia and later moved to Miami, Florida in 1953. Only death separated them when her beloved husband was called home on March 23, 1996, she never remarried.
At a young age, Georgia accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and attended St. James AME Church for many years. Georgia worked for Saint Francis Hospital on Miami Beach as a lab technician where she later retired. She later relocated back to Damascus, Georgia with her daughter, Gloria Ann Roberts who was her sole caregiver until God called her home on January 10, 2020.
She was a loving mother and leaves to cherish, Alphonso Thompson (Clarice), Gloria Ann Roberts, Roosevelt Roberts Jr. (deceased), and stepdaughter, Patricia Ann Roberts Levette. Sixteen Grandchildren: Amanda Thompson, Jessica Thompson, Stephanie Etienne (Gio), Richard Daniel Jr. (Aneisha), Damon Daniel, Rachel Daniel, Daphne Daniel, and Brandie Toussaint, Jason Roberts, Cynthia Mitchell (Felix), Roosevelt Roberts III, Roosevelt Roberts IV, Amanda Kozee (Nathan), Maria Roberts, Jessica Vargas (Luis), Isiah Collins; Thirty five Great Grandchildren; Seven Great Great Grandchildren; Brother-in-law Walter Lee (Dutt) Henderson (Rose ); Sister-in-law Sue Henderson, Ola Mae Smalls; Eldest surviving cousin Gwendolyn Lane and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
