Honoring the lIfe of Mr. Gerlald G. Tinson
Gerald G. Tinson ( Jerry ) was born on April 13, 1949 in Blakely, Ga to the late Floyd Tinson and the late Vera Graham. He returned to his ancestors on February 17, 2022 at the Enterprise Medical Center.
Jerry received his formal education in the public schools of Early County. He graduated from Washington High School in 1967. Upon graduating high school, he like many young black men of that time, enlisted in the United States Army. He was a Paratrooper, assigned to the 82nd Airborne Division.
Upon completion of his stateside training, he was sent to Vietnam at the height of the Tet Offensive. He was honorably discharged from the Army in 1970. During his life, he was engaged in general labor from farming to truck driving. During his latter life, injuries sustained in Vietnam rendered him a disabled veteran.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his beloved grandparents who helped raise him, Flozell and Jessie Bell Hudley.
Loving memories of his life and times re-main with his children, Patrick, Tameka, Karonte, and Andre. Other survivors who will miss his love for life include his siblings: Hilda, Johnnie, Verdell ( Shirley ), Carzell ( Juanita ) and Saraphena (Walt). His sense of humor will be missed by his grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, his cousins and sorrowing host of friends.
“To love the hearts we leave behind is not to die."
