Obituary
for Mrs. Olivia Reed
Olivia, affectionally called (Scotchie) by family and friends was born in Bascom, Florida on April 10, 1929 to the late Jim Smith and Patty Worlds– Ealy. She welcomed and accepted the Lord as her personal Savior at an early age at Zion Watch Methodist Church of Blakely, Ga.
She later, as an adult, moved her church membership to Friendship Missionary Baptist Church of Blakely, Ga. where Rev. Cleveland Sanders now presides. She was a faithful member serving on the usher board and participated in other roles of the church as needed until she transitioned at Southeast Alabama Medical Center in Dothan, Ala. to be with the Lord. She was employed by the White family in which she was a Nana to two generations of the White family, She was also employed with the local health department for many years. Throughout her life journey she has made many friendships.
Scotchie leaves to cherish her, one step daughter, Jessie Reed , five loving sisters: Vivian Stringer, Flo (Robert ) Freeman, West Palm Beach, Fl., Lillian Williams, Riviera Beach, Fl. Maxine Williams, New York, NJ., Sallie Oliver, Blakely, Ga. A host of caring nieces and nephews, many other family members and a large community of friends including her church family.
She is preceded in her home going by her parents: Jim Smith and Patty Worlds — Ealy, her spouse, James Reed, her brothers: Benjamin Ealey, Willie D. Ealy, Johnny Spann Ealy and Van D Ealy. Sisters: Ida Henderson, Mildred Walker, Mary Davis.
Pallbearers: Kevin Ealey, LaShawn Ealey, Tony Smith, Jerome Ealey, Glen Daniels, Jr., Willie Ealey, Jr.
