A Time to be Born: Avis T. Anderson was born on March 31, 1962 to the late Sammy Anderson and Tommie Lee Anderson in Blakely, Ga.

A Time to Show Love: Avis was affectionately known to her family as Thomascina.  To her classmates and friends, they simply called her Avis. In high school she enjoyed participating in the band as a color guard, and she loved helping her football team bring home a win.  She enjoyed traveling and shopping for antiques and clothes.  She also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.

A Time to Learn: Avis graduated from Early County High School, Blakely, Ga in 1980. She then went on to graduate from Florida A & M University in Tallahassee, Florida with a degree in Health Care Management.

A Time to Serve: Avis was converted to Christianity at St. Maryland Missionary Baptist Church in Blakely, Ga. Later years, by way of experience, she joined Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church In Tallahassee, Florida where she became a member of the Outreach Ministry.

A Time to Work:  Avis worked for Florida Department of Revenue and retired after 30 years of service.

A Time to Reunite: Avis is preceded in death by her father, Sammy Anderson and her beloved husband, Leroy James Bonds.

A Time to Mourn: Avis’s precious memory will be cherished by her mother, Tommie Lee Anderson, Blakely, Ga., Aunts, Elizabeth Smith, Tallahassee, Florida, Flossy Williams of Hollandale, Florida,

One sister, Bobbie Wilson of Piscataway, New Jersey, and a host of relatives, friends, and classmates.
