Kenya Viet Anderson was born May 22,1972 to the late Felicia Joyce Hightower and Eddie Claude Hightower of Blakely, Ga.
She was the oldest of 5 children. She had one brother, Travis Hightower, who preceded her in death. One brother Freddick C. Hightower, two sisters, D’Asia Davis and Darneisha S. Hightower. She also had one niece, Olivia Jade Hightower.
Her step-Mother, Elizabeth Hightower raised her, and she also preceded her in death.
On March 13, 2004, she married the love of her life, Gregory Anderson. They remained married for 19 years until her death. Gregory was a loving and devoted husband who stood by her through all of her health issues.
Kenya was a 1990 graduate of Early County High School. She also graduated from Abraham Baldwin Agricultural College (ABAC) and Valdosta State University with multiple degrees.
Kenya was a Special Education Teacher in Randolph County until health issues forced her into early retirement.
She was named Teacher of the Year in 2008.
She is a member of St. Maryland MB Church. Kenya leaves one God Brother, Rev. Henry Hogan III, and a host of family, friends and love ones to mourn her death.
