OBITUARY
I have fought a good fight, I have finished my tasks; now I am ready to rest until we meet again. Queen Esther Wilson Shaw was the first born of the Late Joe and late Susie Ceasar Wilson on August 14, 1931, She was very fastidious, neat in appearance and an obedient child. She became a member of St. John ( Pineview ) Missionary Baptist Church at an early age, and she served as an usher, attended Sunday Church School, BTU and church conventions. Queen attended primary school at Union Hill Church School and later attended Washington High. soon after, she married Edward Shaw at age 18.
She moved to St Petersburg, Florida with her brother, Brutus Wilson, and she also spent a great deal of her time with one ofher oldest sisters, Lizzie Mae. She worked as a clerk and salesperson at children Linens Fashion Store, and while she was in residence in Saint Petersburg, she became a member of Galiee Missionary Baptist Church.
After retuning to her hometown, Blakely, Ga. She reunited with her home church family, Saint John Pineview, where she played her part until her death. Queen enjoyed cleaning and tyding up, cooking and shopping, but most of all, she loved that she was able to take care of her mother, and family. She was the mother of one child that she adored, Susan D. Walker and the grandmom of one - Alvin Wilson Henry, who precededher in death.
In addition to her loving dughter, she leaves to mourn her homegoing: five sisters: Odell Wilson, Valeria McGarrah, Frances( James ) Harris, Roxie Mae Morgan and Mildred ( Johnny ) Corbitt, a host of nephews and nieces, cousins and friends. Seven brothers preceded her in death. Brutus, Rufus, Joseph, Harvey, Anthony, Aaron and Wllie James and five sisters: Elle Mae, Lizzie Mae, Maudell, Marilda and Eve Mae.
